How old is old enough to give a little girl her first jewelry box?

The answer to that questions depends on two things. First the individual girl you are considering and the type of jewelry box you are giving. When a little girl starts looking for something to put a few of her special items, it's time to consider a starter jewelry box. A starter jewelry box can be considered on of those paper boxes, a plastic trinket box or a plush fuzzy box.

Plush Flower Jewelry Boxes

The lids of these charming soft, fuzzy, plush-covered jewelry boxes open up to reveal handy sectioned trays and mirrors. 4 3/4" x 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" high. Sold in a pack of 4.

Something fun, but not too expensive. This way if she doesn't take care if it, it won't be a big deal. Depending on how she handles this one, will depend on when you move to the next step. The next step might be a small wood jewelry box.

Princess Mini Treasure Box

Pretty pink mini-cabinet is a perfect place for little princesses to put all their precious treasures. Wood. 7 1/2" x 3 1/8" x 8 1/2" high.

Then you might move up to a nice hand painted jewelry box. One that is not little girlish, but not totally an adult jewelry box.

Hand Painted White Jewelry Box

Hand painted, curved front, lift lid with mirror, top has ring rolls in the center-4 sections on one side and 1 section on the other side, open drawer, hand lined dusty rose sueded fabric interior, wooden drawer pulls.
